Meet inside the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, in the East Court (the space with the floating head sculptures)
Art materials and paper provided (if you like you can bring a sketchbook)
Complete beginners welcome.
The Kelvingrove Museum has a fascinating, huge collection of varied exhibits from around the world. There is a lot to look at and for us to enjoy some easy going drawing from. We will meet in the spacious East Court, with the quirky array of sculpture, tribal masks, beautifully painted vases, rooks with a parrot, football strips and ancient stones! The architecture and interior space is also very interesting to look at – so much to sketch 🙂
This is a very relaxed group, there will be no pressure to make any finished drawings, the emphasis is just to be there together and enjoy some mark making and sketching of some of the exhibits or interior. We will start with some doodly fun drawings before settling down for one or two longer drawings. We will enjoy working with our own materials pack with different papers, pencils and pens.
Blair will lead the session with some demos and give friendly guidance and suggestions if you need any help. It will be nice to have some time to take in the atmosphere and being aware of the space and engaging with exhibits and details we might not have noticed before.
Come along and enjoy some fun drawings!
No booking is needed.
