About

Working with Japanese sumi ink and fude brushes on washi paper, suitable for beginners.

Begin simply with copying a Kanji (Chinese) character each night, relating to Zen:
念 nen – mindfulness – feeling – care
空 ku – emptiness – sky
道 dou – way – teachings

This is a practice where you can enjoy using ink and brushes, and be immersed in the moment of drawing the kanji.

With demonstrations and friendly help from artist Blair Thomson, who is a member of Glasgow Zen Group and studied Sho and markmaking in Osawano, Japan with calligraphy Master Wakabayashi.

Great for folk with an interest in Zen or Buddhism or in Japanese and Chinese arts. Please contact D+P Studio for more info on this group.
