At our March zoom language and cultural Kanji Club group we had a green theme of growth and world this month, with the expansive word sekai 世界 meaning world, society or generation 🌎

Blair guided participants on how to write the kanji characters with a pen, stroke by stroke, and went over pronunciation and the katakana and hiragana scripts too. Together we looked at related kanji such as life, and plant, and well known commonly used vocabulary.

This time we also spent extra time on the most common radicals which appear in Chinese and Japanese words so often, these are the building blocks of kanji characters!
Some of the kanji we looked at during the fun quiz this time were 果 ka fruit, 神 shin gods/soul, 早 sō fast/early, and 休 yasumu rest.
We also had fun reading some Doraemon bilingual manga, sympathising with the trials of the main character Nobita!
Otsukare sama deshita – well done and thanks for joining the sprouting Kanji Club 🌱
